How did your experience abroad add to your academic journey at Rutgers?
I was interested in studying abroad because I wanted to observe medical and research cultures outside of the United States. Scotland, and the United Kingdom in general, has a very unique collegiate process in comparison to the United States, and their accelerated focus allows students to take more niche and higher level courses at earlier years in their collegiate experience, so I was able to take a course there that imparted advanced lab techniques and a unique was of learning science. The medical system in Scotland is very different from the U.S. as well, and as a pre-medicine student, I was very interested to observe how the medical systems worked there and how it affected the health of the general population. It was overall a very rewarding experience that has shaped the remaining years of my college experience.
