- Career Interest:
I am interested in pursuing a career as a physician, where I can directly engage with patients. I have always been particularly drawn to healthcare because of the strong interpersonal connections that define it, and I hope to use the scientific knowledge I gain along my lifelong journey in medicine to make a meaningful impact in patients’ lives.
- Fun Fact: In my free time, I love to explore, whether that’s traveling somewhere new around the world or just hiking local trails! I enjoy getting to experience new environments and gaining unique perspectives. It allows me to reset and recharge by taking a break from my usual routine.
- Why Research:
I first became involved in research in high school because I just really loved science, and I quickly realized how much I enjoyed it. Getting to ask new questions and actually uncover answers was really exciting for me, and my interest only grew as I developed into a young researcher. Currently, I am studying how pregnancy influences pain perception in the Abraira Lab. It has been really rewarding to work on a project with such tangible clinical relevance, and it has made me more interested in how research can improve patient care.
