This course may be used to fulfill the elective requirements within the cell biology and neuroscience major.
Two terms of Research in Cell Biology and Neuroscience (3 or more credits each semester) will be accepted in lieu of the 300-400 elective with laboratory requirement.
Permission of the Department and instructor willing to sponsor the student. A cumulative GPA of 2.8 or better.
This course is intended for students wishing to pursue some aspect of research within the disciplines of cell biology and neuroscience. Credits are by arrangement and determined by the nature of the research project. A form entitled 'Registration for Research in Cell Biology and Neuroscience' must be signed by the supervising faculty member and the Coordinator of Advising (see below). Faculty outside of the Department of Cell Biology and Neuroscience can sponsor students. Students are advised to discuss possible registration in this course with their departmental advisor.

3. Use scientific reasoning to evaluate the potential for current research and new discoveries to improve our understanding of cell biology and neuroscience and its relevance to human health and to our society.
Exams, Assignments, and Grading Policy
Each student registered in 307/308 is required to submit a report of his or her work to the Coordinator of Advising at the end of each semester. The final grade in each course is determined by the sponsoring faculty member.
